How the Patient’s Personality Shapes Technique

Saturday, September 16, 2017

5.5 CEs available
The Doubletree Hotel 1617 IH-35 North Austin, TX
Psychodynamic approaches to personality help us understand our patient’s primary drives and conflicts, which inevitably shape the course of treatment. Glen Gabbard will cover four major areas of character structure/pathology and clinical approaches to treatment with each one, including narcissistic, obsessive-compulsive, histrionic/hysterical, and masochistic/self-defeating. This knowledge can be integrated into clinical work to overcome impasses and increase treatment efficacy.
What are the most effective therapeutic techniques for different character structures?
Join us for an illuminating and invigorating presentation and discussion
of how personality influences response to treatment.
