Jan 4, 2017    Identifying and Creating the Psychoanalytic Patient

Joellen Peters, Ph.D, Sharon Horowitz, Ph.D, and Cynthia Lee, Ph.D.

        1.5 CE/CME/CEU/PDs (Clinical)

This interactive discussion will engage all audience members to think and discuss together as a group about the ways we cultivate a psychoanalytic practice.  We will answer the questions:  how do we advertise for analytic patients; how do we screen analytic patients, whether that is on the phone, through email, or in an initial consultation; how do we initiate folks into the psychoanalytic process; and how do we help grow and develop psychoanalytic thinking and experiencing in our patient’s minds.

Learning Objectives:  At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:

·         Identify three specific techniques to advertise for or screen analytic patients.

·         Describe two techniques to cultivate psychoanalytic thinking and experiencing in patients.
